Linda Painter

Linda and her husband, Phil, graduated from Morton West High School.  Linda received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Winona State University in Minnesota.  As a pediatric nurse, Painter is an advocate for the physical, psychological and emotional benefits that the outdoors and unstructured play provide children.

Linda is married to Dr. Phil Painter.  They have 3 grown children and have lived in DuPage County for over 30 years.  They moved down the street from Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve to be near open space where the Painter family enjoys hiking, biking, cross country skiing and walking dogs.  The Painters are active members of Sts. Peter and Paul Church where they enjoy singing in the choir.

Linda began going to DuPage County Forest Preserve meetings to encourage the completion of the 10 mile bike path in Waterfall Glen and to get the forest preserve staff to place several picnic tables and benches along the bike path making the preserve a little more family friendly.  She is currently serving as a Commissioner for the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County and is working to make all the forest preserves in DuPage County more accessible and enjoyable for the residents.
